About us
I'm originally from South Dakota. I started my fitness journey in 3rd grade. My brother started lifting weights and running drills, training for football. My parents bought him a home gym and he worked out in the basement living room. I was a curious brother and Immediately started doing what he was doing. I became really competitive and wanted to lift more than him. I pushed myself hard and listened to my body and grew stronger faster than him. Three years later I was lifting more than him. He was in the 10th grade at the time. I started working out with him at the Highschool gym and got to know all the big lifters and Highschool football players. I was in the 6th grade when I was invited to compete in the Highschool Bench press contest. I won my first 1st place trophy. I started training for powerlifting after that. I competed for a few years going all over the state of South Dakota setting new state records and winning a first place trophy in every competition. In 10th grade I went to compete in a national competition in Evansville Indiana. I had just turned 17 7 days before the meet so I competed in the 17-19 year old division. I set a new national bench press record and also received my first second place trophy. The following spring I was in a waterski/barefoot skiing accident and hurt my lower back. The doctor advised me to stop playing football and to also stop squatting and deadlifting heavy. I stopped competing in powerlifting and started training for life. Years later I was at a friend's wedding break dancing doing the helicopter and smashed my knee. Very painful meniscus tear to my left knee. The recovery was long. It took about 1 year till I felt 100%. I got busy with work, friends and life and started gaining weight. I started working out again and lost 40 lbs. On average 8-10 lbs per month. I kept fit and strong and pain free for years until I got in a car accident and hurt my lower back and my right knee. Again, I gained a bunch of weight. This time I lost 60 lbs in 7 months and strengthened my body to relieve pain in my lower back and knees. I believe most pain and discomfort in the body is from weakness and once it's strengthened it will dissipate. In my experience, the first 3 months of training is the toughest. It takes a lot of self motivation and willpower and discipline. I think after 3 months of training you really notice the improvement of your body and you feel the energy of your mitochondria and ATP. I think from 3-6 months of training huge improvements in strength and stamina. After 6 months of training you're hooked. It becomes a habit and it's natural. You don't feel your best unless you workout. Whether you are just starting to workout or are just getting back to working out, start your fitness journey with me. My goal is to make training fun and enjoyable. I am hoping to inspire you to love fitness for life. I believe it's more enjoyable working out with a friend and that's why with all my training programs you can invite a friend to workout with you for free. You can text me anytime and I'll get back to you when I can or set up a free consultation to talk with me on the phone.
